Apple Pie


Pastry for two 9 inch crusts (I buy the deep dish pie crust)

3 cups diced apples, use Empire if available

2/3 cup sugar

1 TBSP flour

1/2 tsp cinnamon

Topping: Mix the following together:

1 tsp butter

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 tbsp water

1/4 cup coarsely chopped walnuts


Mix apples , sugar, flour and cinammon together until well blended.

Place mixture in unbaked crust.

Place the other pie crust on top of the pie and fasten securely at edges.

Bake 450 degrees for 10 minutes.

Reduce heat to 350 degreesF for 25 minutes until crust is nicely browned.

Spread topping and bake for another 10 minutes.

Serve with French Vanilla Ice Cream.

Cut the edges of the pan to cover the pie edges to prevent the edges from burning.
